PHOTOGRAMMETRY

IN THE MIA

During my time in Minneapolis, I had the opportunity to work with the Minneapolis Institute of Art as a contract 3D artist for the Visual Resources Department. I worked under the Department Head and the Lead Collections Photographer. We worked on a variety of projects ranging from studio photography and film, to immersive experiences in virtual reality. My primary responsibility was to capture artifacts from the collection through photogrammetry and make them accessible online.

PROCESS

The majority of our work was captured by an automated turntable with a camera mounted robotic arm. Occasionally, we would work with other forms of LIDAR scanning for larger artifacts or very small objects. You can see more of our work here
